STUDY OF LEPTOSPIROSIS EPIDEMIOLOGY

Leptospirosis is one of zoonosis disease that need serious effort. At last of six years in Semarang city leptospirosis always found every year. At 2007 there were 9 patient with 1 dead. The aim of this research was to know leptospirosis epidemiology in Semarang City. This research was cross sectional research. Research conducted on Mei-November 2008. Activity of this research included : leptospirosis diagnosis at human being by used Rapid Diagnostic Test (RDT) with Leptotek Dridot continued by Microscopic Aglutination Test (MAT); knowledge, attitude and behaviour about leptospirosis survey; edafic factor, distribution and incrimination of Leptospira sp of mouse; environment study that supporting leptospirosis occurence. Data analysed descriptively.
Result of this research showed at 2008 at leptospirosis case most found in Pedurungan and Banyumanik Subdistrict. During research time and from secondary data, leptospirosis case (diagnosis by Leptotek) there was 131 leptospirosis case. As much 86 leptospirosis case continued with MAT to know the strain of leptospirosis bacteria. The positevely leptospirosis on rats know by ren/kidney culture. The culture test of mouse kidney done at 142 mouse from 566 mouse had been trapped. Result of mouse kidney test showed positive mouse of Leptospira Sp were Rattus tanezumi, R. norvegicus, R. exulans and Bandicota indica as much 31 (21,8 %). Result of interview with 200 respondent as much 91% have less knowledge about leptospirosis, 72,5% attitude at middle category, 74% practice at middle category, and the Knowledge, Practice And Attitude as much 76% at less category. The mouse trapped done at 7 times in some of sub district in Semarang. Highest trap success was in Petompon Subdistrict 23,02%. Species found were Rattus tanezumi, R. norvegicus, R. exulans and Bandicota indica. The culture test of mouse kidney done at 142 mouse from 566 mouse had been trapped. Result of mouse kidney test showed positive mouse of Leptospira Sp were Rattus tanezumi, R. norvegicus, R. exulans and Bandicota indica as much 31 (21,8 %). Environment factor supporting leptospirosis transmission that measure on this research were divided in 2 part the measurement of physical area covers temperature of air, water, humidity, light intensity, acidity of water and soil, disolved oxygen, salinity and rain fall. The inspection water in laboratorium covers colour, taste, smell, temperature of water, Total Disolved Solid (TDS), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand ( COD) and Disolved Oxygen (DO).
